Be part of an organization that is focused on working with people in the community to find long term solutions and stability during their time of need! This position will work with volunteers to connect neighbors to life stabilizing resources such as food and clothing and programs such as job placement and financial assistance. Work one on one with neighbors in crisis. Coordinate all intake, registration and filing of neighbor’s records. General administrative responsibilities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Volunteer Supervision- Works directly with volunteers to compassionately listen and assist neighbors in connecting with vital resources.
- Neighbor Connection- Works directly with various departments to ensure proper neighbor connection in order to promote success.
- Work closely with Opportunity Center to connect neighbors with available classes, trainings, and job coaching.
- Work closely with the Advocacy Department to help neighbors navigate deep resource connections.
- Equip volunteers to connect neighbors with life stabilizing opportunities, resources and programs.
- Administration- Updates and maintains reference materials, ensures that database is up to date, readily pull reports, and relays trends, stories, and questions to the team. Responsible for all data entry for the Emergency Service Center.
- Other- Performs other functions as necessary or assigned.
EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS:
(Minimum Requirements)
- Bilingual required
- At least 1 year experience in the social services field recommended
- Administrative experience recommended
- A working knowledge of services available to families and individuals in crisis and at risk of homelessness
- High comfort level in working alongside volunteers
- Effective utilization of time management skills by prioritizing tasks for self and others
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong active listening skills
- High degree of social perceptiveness - being aware of others’ reactions and understanding why they react as they do
- Identify and diffuse conflict quickly and calmly
- Proficient organizational skills
- Efficient with various computer skills – Microsoft Office, CRM, typing
- Monday-Friday, 8:30am - 2pm (times can vary)
- 20-25 hrs/week
- Off December 24-January 1 (paid)
